Oral Health Educator

The nation's largest in-school dental program is looking for an Oral Health Educator in or around San Fernando Valley, CA to drive participation at our partner school districts and engaging children in the importance of oral health. Serving children for almost 20 years, our Big Smiles Mission is to bring dental care to students in schools, in the most comfortable and effective way.

In this role, you will be traveling to schools in Los Angeles County giving short oral health presentations to children in grades PK-5, while distributing consent forms from classroom to classroom. You will also be interacting with teachers, nurses, and other school staff.

Oral Health Educators are asked to visit schools:

• If the school has low participation - less than 20% of students signed up to receive dental care
• If the school is new and a visit will create more interest in the program
• If the school has specifically requested that an Oral Health Educator make a visit to the school

Requirements:

• Daily travel within Los Angeles County – up to 100 miles round trip.
• Available to work most days of the week during school hours (8AM-3PM) and up to 30 hours/week. Occasional evening and weekends for school events (ex: health fairs, back to school nights).
• Professional appearance
• Able to lift 25 pounds
• Valid driver license with reliable transportation
• Spanish speaking a plus
